Representatives of Most Autodrom participated in the start of the European Truck Championship

A delegation from AUTODROM MOST visited the Austrian Red Bull Ring in Spielberg on the last day of April, where the first races of this year's FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) were held. This year, on the weekend of 2 to 4 September, the Most race circuit (for which the Czech Truck Prix is the most prestigious race of the season) will welcome trucker teams, their crews and thousands of fans.

The reason for visiting to our Southern neighbours was explained by Jana Svobodová, business and marketing manager of AUTODROM MOST. "We don't want to overlook or underestimate any detail when preparing the September truck championship in Most. That is why we wanted to see how the organizer of the initial ETRC race, and also the new promotional representative of the race – the European Truck Racing Association (ETRA), approached the organization. The promotional representative has its facilities directly on the Red Bull Ring circuit," she said.

In spite of the significantly lower number of visitors than during the heavy-tonnage races of specials in Most, Svobodová considered the first race of the new season in the Red Bull Ring to be a success. "The organization was seamless, everything went according to plan. The organizers were also lucky to get beautiful Spring weather on Saturday, which generally improved the picturesque premises of the race below the snow-covered peaks of the Alps," she said.

The Most Autodrom has been collaborating with ETRA since the end of last year. "We are in close contact. We have carefully read the conditions and rules specified by the promotional representative for the championship. We are now making sure everything works out so that we can prepare excellent facilities and services for the racing teams, thousands of visitors and journalists. Our situation will be a little harder due to the fact that truck races are our main attraction, while for the Red Bull Ring trucks only come after F1 races. We will be dealing with much larger crowds than those that came to Spielberg," added Svobodová.

She also reminded us that tickets to the Czech Truck Prix in Most are already available. One thing that's new is the unified price, which includes entry to the whole premises of the Most Autodrom. "If our visitors want to have their tickets safe at home already, they can buy them right now. Since the ticket prices are unified and tickets are valid for one day, they don't even need to decide now whether they will arrive on Saturday or Sunday. It is possible to just buy a ticket now and select the specific day based on the situation on the racing weekend," explained the business and marketing manager. Tickets are available here.

Tereza Zajíčková, the event manager of AUTODROM MOST, was interested mainly in the accompanying programme on the Red Bull Ring. Apart from the main and accompanying races, visitors could enjoy a parade of historic cars and trucks as well as service vehicles and formulas. Country-style dancers, taxi rides and go-karts were also part of the fun. "If I had to compare them, I'd say that our accompanying programmes are livelier and perhaps also have more of a spark, as it were. Furthermore, I am now even more convinced that the inclusion of the Grid Walk, i.e., allowing visitors to walk to the machines and racers on the starting grid just before the start of the race, was a good idea. It was a highly popular attraction also in Spielberg," she said.

The overall winner of the first race of the championship in the Red Bull Ring was Jochen Hahn from Germany with his MAN truck. MAN also won the teams competition, also in part thanks to René Reinert from Germany who finished third. The Czech Buggyra International Racing System team is defending their title in this category; they left Austria with a second-place finish. Adam Lacko, who was second in total last year, once again proved his skill and gradually improved his performance during the weekend, ending the event with wins in both Sunday races. That secured him second place among individual drivers. One particular factor that probably helped him in this respect was that Sunday was rainy. Together with the results of his new colleague Jiří Forman, who replaced our previously most successful truck racer David Vršecký, this also meant a fairly good start to the season for the team. The second place finish of Buggyra is also due to Forman's surprising eighth-place finish among fourteen drivers, a very good result considering that it's his first year. The team is now looking forward to a good performance in this year's championship.
