The Most Challenge has a new leader

The Most Challenge took place on the large racing circuit of the Most Autodrom on Tuesday, and resulted in an improvement of the previous best time per lap. The competition has amateur drivers competing on the racing track in series vehicles, with the goal of achieving a time of under 2 minutes. The new holder of this year's and also absolute record is Lukáš Hink, who completed a lap in 1:55.24 minutes in his BMW M3 on 3 May.

"It should be said that the new leader used semi-slick tyres on his car, which are not part of the series equipment of the vehicle and have significantly improved the vehicle's properties on the track. The general parameters of this type of BMW are also perfect for this racing circuit. In combination with a skilled driver, most other vehicles simply couldn't compete," explained  Jindřich Hrneček, sports manager of AUTODROM MOST.

All fans of fast cars can continue improving their times, the competition runs until the end of September. Six contestants managed to achieve a time of under two minutes this year. In addition to Lukáš Hinka, these were his brother Michal (also in a BMW M3), Antonín Bláha in a Chevrolet Camaro, Dominik Staněk in a Honda S2000, Jan Hlavička in an Octavia RS and Karel Lisec in a Nissan GTR. The adrenalin-filled experience is also enhanced by the new asphalt and curbs in the last two turns of the large racing circuit. According to the sports manager of AUTODROM MOST, Michal Marek, these adjustments are precisely the factor which allows an improvement of previous times per round.

The first impulse leading to the creation of the Most Challenge was the record of one of the best Czech racers and two-time winner of the ETCC, Petr Fulín. He achieved an excellent time of 1:57.2 minutes on the large racing circuit of the Most Autodrom one year ago, in a series Seat Leon Cupra. Vojtěch Štajf from the Subaru team then immediately accepted the challenge and tried to beat this record. This has led the organizers to create an exclusive club for fast series cars which allows the general public to try a timed lap on the circuit. More information available here.
