A record-breaking number of people closing the season at the Racing Track
As always, also this year the usual closing event of the season at Most racing track had the form of free public runs. The day was sunny and more than one thousand visitors took part in this very popular and keenly expected event.
The weather with almost summer temperatures contributed to the record-breaking number of motor sports and car fans on Saturday, October 30th. Still, the main attraction of the day was the chance to drive one's own car on the race track and learn the track's profile and pitfalls by experience. Each of the runs was carefully scheduled and all places in all runs were occupied. Not only admirers of sports cars and tuning but also drivers of common cars from all over the Czech Republic come here to test their skills and the limits of their passenger cars. “Though it looked like rain at the morning back at home, we risked it and now we’re glad. The weather turned out wonderful and we really enjoyed driving under the blue sky,” Jaroslav from Mladá Boleslav says. He has been coming to the racing track in Most to join the spring and fall public runs for several years.
Some authorized dealers in passenger and utility cars took advantage of the attractiveness of this event and of intriguing environment of the track and presented their current models and their services at the event. AUTONAGY s.r.o. brought their BMW cars, Hyundai and Mitsubishi were presented by Autocentrum Háša from Ústí nad Labem, Ford make was presented by Urban Auto s.r.o. from Most and Fiat make by Smažík Most s.r.o. As every year, Auto Hrubý s.r.o. with Citroën cars and Autoplus II, s.r.o. with the domestic Škoda make could not be missing.
Where the parking lot of racing cars is, visitors could see some twenty classic and vintage cars, which enhanced the already specific environment of a racing track. One could admire the beauty of Tatra 603 and Škoda Felicia from 1960’s, a sturdy Cadillac Eldorado with an 8 liter engine and other carefully preserved treasures including a representative Daimler sedan.
Road traffic and motor sports in general connect with safety and accident prevention. This is why as a part of this event visitors could try out driving a special simulator which simulates a car’s turning on its roof during an accident. More than one hundred visitors took the chance to experience this disagreeable yet instructive feeling and heard a lecture on how to react appropriately in case of such type of accident.
The visitors could take home branded souvenirs, e.g. many variations of T-shirts with motifs of the Racing Track in good graphic design. There were also other useful items, such as umbrellas, windscreen shades, backpacks, keytags and many more. If somebody failed to get hold of these on Saturday, there is no need to worry. All these things can be found on Track’s official web pages www.autodrom-most.cz, where you can also order them.
Sports manager of Most Racing Track Michal Marek highlights the success of this fall Saturday: “Fall public runs were a success this year too. We had no collisions, all participants were disciplined and left the Racing Track satisfied. We are happy that they grand us their continuous favour and will “repay” them in spring, when we plan to hold this event again.”
