Autodrom Most preparing for the 2010 season
Autodrom Most might seem to be having a rest this winter, when the race track is buried under a thick layer of snow. However, the opposite is true. Preparations for the upcoming season are now in full swing and spectators may look forward to some interesting novelties.
This season, motorsport fans may again look forward to seeing races of the Czech Republic International Automobile Championship, Czech Republic Motorcycle Championship combined with the international Alpe Adria Championship and, of course, the EUROPEAN TRUCK CHAMPIONSHIP called Czech Truck Prix 2010, during which the Sports Cars Challenge will be held, i.e. the former and well-known Interserie. Moreover, the calendar was supplemented with some races of the International Swiss Automobile Championship.
It is no secret that we will continue hosting the most prestigious Czech circuit series, “Česká pojišťovna – Octavia Cup” in Most – now with cars that have been partially modernised and had a facelift according to the current high-selling Octavia model from Mladá Boleslav.
Now we are getting ready for a new race in Division D5 in the Most circuit, where full-fledged cars of FIA GT1, GT2, GT3 and GT4 series may participate according to the schedule, with the dominating models of Aston Martin, Saleen, Ferrari and Corvette. Cars from the well-known cup series will appear in the starting grid, such as the Lamborghini Cup, Maserati Cup and Porsche Cup. In Most, this eagerly expected division should always appear during the Czech Republic International Championship, i.e. three times in total. “This step will definitely mean stimulation for the Czech racing circuits. Races of cars from renowned sports makes will certainly be very attractive and thrilling for the spectators,” commented Michal Marek, Sports Manager of Autodrom Most, on the start of a new category.
As our Autodrom wants to continue meeting the wishes of the general public, this time we are creating two days of free rides in the racing circuit. The first day will be organised in spring, on 20 March, the other traditionally in autumn, on 30 October. Participants may try out not only the racing circuit, but also the track for four-wheelers, go-carts or, for example, the traffic playground for children. Therefore, the event is intended both for adults and children.
A principal novelty, which will definitely be welcome by those interested in a thrilling show during races, is the change in admission fees. All Sunday races except the Czech Truck Prix may be viewed at a token price of CZK 50.00, which means that not all high-quality entertainment needs to be expensive. Families or fathers with children will get their money’s worth because we are creating an accompanying programme on the spectator's slope, for example in the form of entertainment attractions.
“We don't want to disclose all the novelties right at the beginning of the year, so we're going to keep more small surprises secret until the very beginning of the season. We believe that the visitors will continue favouring our circuit and will find their way to us,” said Marek at the end. The motorsport event calendar and the programme of racing weekends will undoubtedly be a lure that fans of speedy wheels shouldn't miss, in particular when the area is so easily accessible.
