The Autodrom Most is preparing one more traditional event for this year – public open door day

08.10.2010 15:54

It has become a favorite tradition, that the race track in Most opens its gates to the wide public twice a year and everybody interested in closer familiarization with the track layout has the possibility to experience the track of Autodrom Most in person in his own car. Traditionally the doors of the racetrack will open to the public at the end of October. All fans of motor sport are invited to visit the racetrack. The chance to experience the track from a race driver's perspective will, according to all, be again used to its full extent.

„On Saturday the 25th of October, we offer this opportunity to our fans and as usual we point out that the driving on the racetrack is only informative a we strongly discourage any effort to take on the track records with passenger cars or attempts to race“ said Michal Marek, the sport director of  the circuit. As always, strict rules will be enforced and only those cars which have a valid registration plates and technical checks, or custom built cars with rollcages and in good technical condition will be allowed on the racetrack.

„Openwheeler passengers are obliged to use a safety helm and we advise to use a helmet in other cars too.“ Marek added. The waiver each participant has to sign, states that drifting or any attempts to drift are forbidden. It is also important, that no passenger can be younger than 18 years of age. „It is understandable that holders of valid road racing, rallye and hillclimb licenses will have an exception“ Marek clarified. Of course driving under the influence of alcohol or other narcotic substances is forbidden and the maximum speed of 30kph in the paddock will be strictly watched and measured. It is also forbidden to have more passengers than allowed by the car manufacturer.

The element, that the participants should see as the major reason to cautious behaviour on the track is the fact, that any accident on a closed circuit is not covered by common accident insurance or damage liability insurance. Every participant has to sign a statement, that he understands this. Without this statement, the participant will not be allowed to enter the track. „Each participant has to obey the safety rules and has to be aware, that should he break these rules he will be escorted out of the circuit premises. Of course there are more safety and organisational rules. Their text will be given to the participants when they buy the tickets for driving on the circuit. By signing the statement, the participant binds himself to obey all the rules and he acknowledges, that he is entering the racetrack at his own danger and liability. This should be no problem for those, who have come for a visit and are interested in the circuit layout and background.“ the sport director explained.

It is a fact, that on each such event, there are a lot of visitors, who are really interested in how the circuit works from the inside and it's organisation. They are interested in the press centre, workshops, equipment of the pitboxes and also in the functioning of the heart and brain of the circuit – the central dispatch with monitors, where all the signals from all cameras placed around the circuit go.

The entry into the circuit premises is free. The coupons for driving on the racetrack will be as usual available in the start tower, in the sport department and one coupon for 100CZK will allow the holder a 10 minute session, which means almost 3 laps, entering the pitlane on the last lap. A booth selling the Autodrom Most merchandise will be available and the organisers have not forgotten refreshment.

„We invite all our followers and motor sport fans to a visit and to those who accept the invitation, we wish that the open doors is interesting to them and that they enjoy it. And I wish to everybody, that the event runs without unnecessary crashes and other incidents, so that we can meet this way next time too“ said Michal Marek in the end.
