The Next Quarter-Century of Speed About to Begin

Having celebrated the twenty-fifth anniversary of its existence, Most Motor Racing Circuit is on the brink of the next motoring season. Five official racing weekends will take place here in 2009, of which the most significant will be Czech part of the European Championship Czech Truck Prix.
 
The season will start with the traditional Česká pojišťovna - Škoda Octavia Weekend. Apart from the popular Octavia cup, formula cars and racing cars of the individual divisions of the domestic circuit championship will be presented on 15 - 17 May. And then comes the real treat - the European Superkart Series.
The karts, reaching a maximum speed of 250 km/h, will come back to Most on 4 - 7 June, when CIK - FIA European Championship will take place here. The racing circuit International Championship will continue as a part of the venue, and the popular German series HAIGO with its nostalgic veterans in formula and passenger categories will be introduced.
July in Most is traditionally the month of bikes. The long weekend of 9 - 12 July will be full of practice races of the attractive Alpe Adria Championship, whose individual categories will be included in the results of the CR Championship. This is a guarantee of participation not only by the Czech, but also European motor biking elite.
Republic championship participants will return to Most Motor Racing Circuit on 7 - 9 August and compete within the Central European zone championship of formula divisions 2 and 3, and of the attractive and richly represented Division 4 of passenger cars. Another event of Česká pojišťovna - the Škoda Octavia series, and the Polish KIA Ceed Cup will take place.
The highlight of the season will, as usual, come at the end of the month. The last weekend, i.e. 28 - 30 August, specials of a slightly different dimension will roar on the racing circuit. Truck pilots will come to compete in the Czech part of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship. Their clashes will be accompanied by the Octavia Cup and two more interesting categories. Two-litre Renault formulas of the Northern European Cup and formula and passenger cars and prototypes of the Sports Car Challenge.
Both the track and the technical facilities of Most Motor Racing Circuit are undergoing regular spring preparations for the season, and the traditional large-scale training of the racing inspectors was held.
Most Motor Racing Circuit has entered the new season with a brand new website at www.autodrom-most.cz. The design of the new electronic presentation is a bit clearer and livelier in terms of its graphics and colours than the previous one, and those interested will find all the details of the venues, including the results of practice rounds and races, test dates and obviously pictures throughout the season.
The number of people interested in test drives is growing with the improving weather conditions. Many of them have sent their applications in advance. Thus the schedule of the racing track includes an exclusive lease for the Buggyra Truck Racing Team from Roudnice for the week of 10 - 12 March. Its driver David Vršecký strengthened his lead here during last year's truck event in the overall charts of the European Championship, which he later won.
