A weekend full of motorsport goes on at the Most circuit on Sunday!

Day one of another race weekend brought tense battles in truck, NASCAR Euro Series, and MAXX Formula races at the Autodrom Most. The home crowd was delighted by the results as Adam Lacko of the Buggyra racing team and Martin Doubek scored points in their respective truck and NASCAR categories.

Those who wanted to watch pure motorsport headed for the Autodrom Most motor racing circuit on Saturday, where the traditional FIA European Truck Racing Championship event is held on both Saturday and Sunday. This year, attractive duels between the fastest trucks have been completed with a NASCAR Whelen Euro Series round and MAXX Formula races. In all, the spectators could watch five championship races on Saturday.

“The morning qualification was a gamble, which didn’t turn out well for us. In some places, the track was dry while elsewhere, it was wet. Eventually, I took sixth place. In the main race, I had a good start and then several hard clashes, which resulted in the second runner-up spot. Although Albacete of Spain pushed me hard in the final stages, I was careful to brake properly and managed to protect my lane and retain my position. In the handicap race, things went worse because my clutch was slipping and there was also some problem on the front axle, which we hadn’t been able to try out. So, we know now what to change for Sunday,” said Adam Lacko of Buggyra Racing. The most successful truck racer was Norbert Kiss of Hungary, who won on both occasions. Nevertheless, a penalty relegated him to third place in Race 2.

The first NASCAR race was made more dramatic by the rain and a forced pit stop to change tyres. The winner, Alon Day, started from fourth, but managed to work his way to the top after having dropped to twentieth spot due to a collision. Jacques Villeneuve, a former Formula One world champion and an Indy 500 winner, finished eleventh.

Martin Doubek, a local driver, only took part in the second Saturday race. “I expected it would be raining, so the question was rather whether we should prefer a brand-new set of tyres or used ones. We believed there wouldn’t be so much water. That’s why we chose the used tyres. This was a right decision, but they ceased to work on lap six due to high pressure, and I had to cool them down in pools. Finally, I took third place. All I can do now is look forward to Sunday because I believe I can do even better than that,” said Doubek after the Saturday race.

The Most spectators created a brilliant atmosphere, happy to be able to enter the pits again and enjoy the special racing vehicles at close quarters. The race weekend continues on Sunday with another batch of five races, where they can cross their fingers for Czech drivers taking part in the truck, NASCAR, and MAXX Formula races, such as female driver Veronika Jaksch.
