Historic specials will again support NASCAR race weekend this year

Autodrom Most invites all the fans for another highlight of 2021 season, the OMV MaxxMotion NASCAR Show weekend, during the date of 18th to 20th of June. NASCAR Whelen Euro Series visited Most for the first time in 2019, but could not take place in 2020 due to the coronavirus epidemic and Covid-19 disease. The epidemic caused the cancellation of June 2020 term, as well as its replacement November term. However, all the tickets bought are valid for 2021 edition of the race. Organizers will then resume ticket sales from 28th of February on its e-shop.

„We believe, that we will make up for unfortunate cancellation forced by the government restrictions. We have prepared very interesting supporting program. Spectators can look forward for attractive action of historic race cars. Single seaters, which attended famous Grand Prix races on world-known venues will also be present,“ said Jakub Krafek, sales manager for sport at AUTODROM MOST.

Tickets grants access to spectator hillside, grandstands, as well as paddock. „Service zone will be opened, so spectators can take a close look at the racing machines. Grid walk will also be available for those who wants to feel the pre-race atmosphere. Racing drives will be handing autographs and souvenirs all weekend long. For those, who wants to feel like racing driver, go-kart track at the Polygon will be opened. Go-kart track is located over the road to children playground, where we situate attraction for the youngest visitors. Youngsters can compete for sweet and other prizes there. Food stands, souvenirs and fan merchandise will not be missing,” listed Krafek.  „Should the epidemic lift off and we will get back to normal,” he added.

Home fans will be especially eager for the performance of the only Czech driver in NASCAR field, Martin Doubek. In shortened 2020 season, he achieved his race of a lifetime in both runs at the Belgian Zolder race track, where he scored double victory in EuroNASCAR2 category. His overall season result is 7th place, which is also his best.

One of the most popular Stock Car series. It has been run in the United States since 1948. The stock cars were mass produced cars with minimum modifications. In the course of time, this class has transformed in such a way that it is just the car-body silhouette and external light and grille patterns that remind the originally used cars. At present, a Stock Car vehicle consists of a welded tubular frame in which the interior and engine are embedded and covered with a fiberglass reinforced body. All cars are designed identically and powered by a Chevrolet V8 engine producing 450 hp and equipped with a manual four-speed gearbox and rear-wheel drive. There are no electronic driver aids.

Part of the weekend will be support races of historic racing cars. HAIGO Rennwagen and HAIGO Tourenwagen uses formula Easter, Mondial and touring cars Lada zamara, VAZ, Škoda 130RS or Zastava respectively. Kampf der Zwerge presents cars with engine capacity up to 1.3 litres, including legendary cars like Mini Cooper, Abarth TC or NSU TT. Formula V cars were racing in 60s and 70s, equipped with engine from Volkswagen Beetle. Single seaters from Historic Racecar Association are cars from 60s to 80s, which attended Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3, Formula Ford, Formula Renault of Formula Junior races.

2021 season at Autodrom Most will not do without it’s the most prestigious and the most attended event, which is Czech Truck Prix. European Truck Racing Championship will visit most during 27th to 29th of August.
