Adam Lacko of the Buggyra Racing team, the European Truck Racing Championship title holder, gave the home crowd an unprecedented experience. At the Autodrom Most motor racing circuit, he put in a superb performance to win the two Saturday races showing an excellent breath-taking chase in Race 2. The top eight finishers from Race 1 started in reverse order. This meant that Adam had to carve through the field to the top from the fourth row. He was going very well and managed to squeeze ahead of the leader, Reinert, with a great move on the last turn. When reaching the finish line as the winner, he was greeted with excited fans’ deafening applause.

AUTODROM MOST Business and Marketing Manager Jana Svobodová’s joy at the adrenaline-pumping show was unclouded regardless of adverse weather conditions affecting the Saturday programme of the twenty-sixth edition of the Czech Truck Prix. “Unfortunately, it was raining on the first day of September after the tropical summer holiday months. But every cloud has a silver lining. If it were not for the rain, we certainly couldn’t have witnessed the magnificent battles on the track. Adam Lacko makes no secret about the fact that wet tracks suit his style fine. Not only did he prove this on his home circuit at Most especially in Race 2 but his performance was the proverbial icing on the cake. I believe none of the thousands of people who visited our circuit in spite of the adverse weather regretted their decision. We appreciate their loyalty very much,” she said.

Lacko managed to narrow German Jochen Hahn’s lead by thirteen points before two more races scheduled for Sunday. If he succeeds again, he will carve a very promising position for himself before the final three race weekends of the season. This means that he still has a real chance to defend his title.

Parts of the Czech Truck Prix race weekend are Octavia Cup, Renault Clio Cup Central Europe and KIA Platinum Cup support race series. As far as the first two series are concerned, another Czech outstanding driver, Tomáš Pekař, dominates his rivals. He, too, likes and is perfectly familiar with the circuit at Most. He proved this fact in the Saturday Octavia Cup race winning it from lights to flag. He used his supply of bad luck in the Saturday Renault Clio Cup race. After having won the qualifying session, he dropped back to fourth in the wet race. To make matters worse, the stewards of the meeting took a decision to disqualify him from the final race result. Both Kia Platinum Cup races will take place on Sunday.

The programme of side events, dedicated to the centenary since the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic this time, offers a show called The Most Truck Festival after its last year’s successful premiere with more than a hundred trucks entered by the owners. The truck parade lap around the main track at lunchtime on Saturday was really a spectacular show. This part of the programme will be repeated in order to delight the spectators visiting the Czech Truck Prix on Sunday. The visitors can also look forward to an aerobatic show performed by Petr Kopfstein, a participant in the Red Bull Air Race Master Class world championship, a helicopter sightseeing flight, passenger rides in specially modified cars or in an armoured fighting vehicle. A number of free attractions are on the programme intended for children.

Mr. and Mrs. Patera, a newly married couple, enjoyed a unique experience at the Autodrom race track on Saturday. “In association with the Buggyra team, we have fulfilled the newly-weds’ special wish. Before the start of the second truck race, they circled a lap as passengers in a Tatra Phoenix specially designed for the Dakar and driven by Martin Kolomý, a winner of several stages of the most demanding rally competition in the world,” said Svobodová.
